Prominent genres range from improvisational jazz, performance art music, electroacoustic and ambient drone music. John Marks, director and founder of Mirror Lab, said he considers it a "DIY music venue," because there is is no hierarchy within the venue's management structure, nor is there exclusivity as to what, exactly, audiences can expect to hear from performers.
